Vancouver Premier College - Articulations with Degree-granting Institutes

Through articulation agreements with various private and public universities and colleges worldwide, Vancouver Premier College provides opportunities for graduates to transfer credits and continue their education after completing their studies at VPC. Students can choose from various higher- level diplomas or degrees in Hospitality and/or Tourism Management. There are many more institutions worldwide beyond those listed here that offer related diplomas and degree, and we would be happy to contact any that interest you to find out about transfer credit opportunities once you finish a VPC program. Graduates of VPC’s 16-month Hotel Management Diploma will be awarded 60 transfer credits towards Capilano College’s Bachelor of Tourism Management degree program. This means that accepted students will be required to complete an additional 60 credits (or two years) of coursework to receive the Bachelor's degree at Capilano. In order to be accepted into the Bachelor of Tourism Management degree, applicants should complete an interview at Capilano College, have a GPA of 2.67, and get a letter of reference from the Director of Education at VPC. International students will need proof of English language proficiency.

VPC Diploma graduates can transfer into DeVry’s Business Operations degree (Hospitality Concentration). By taking as many as five courses per semester and taking three semesters per year, students could complete their bachelor’s degree in approximately 20 months if all applicable transfer credits are awarded.

After completing the VPC Hotel Management Diploma, students will need to take a minimum additional 10 courses at Douglas College to complete the Hotel and Restaurant Management program. After successful completion of this Douglas College program, students may be eligible for degree programs at the following universities: University of Victoria, University of Guelph, University of Calgary, University of New Brunswick, Open University, Royal Roads University, Ryerson Polytechnic University, Laborne University in Australia, and Cornell University in the US.

Students who have successfully completed the Hotel Management Diploma at VPC will be able to transfer up to 47 credits towards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Travel Industry Management at HPU, requiring approximately another 83 credits or 5 semesters to complete the Degree (approximately 2 years including 1 summer session). HPU also has several Master’s degree options for successful graduates from the Bachelor of Science degree.

After completing the Hotel Management Diploma at Vancouver Premier College, students will be accepted into semester 6 (of a 6-semester program) of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Hotel Management or the Bachelor’s Degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management. Students have the option of continuing on for one more semester to complete an MBA in International Hospitality and Tourism Management.

VPC Diploma graduates can complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management with an Associate of Science degree in Hotel Management in approximately 5-6 academic terms (2 years) depending on individual credit evaluation of official Vancouver Premier College transcripts.

VPC Hotel Management Diploma graduates need to complete two semesters of study at Les Roches plus an internship to complete the Higher Diploma in Hotel Management. Upon completion of the Higher Diploma, students can study for an additional two semesters to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Finances or Marketing. Upon completion of the Bachelor’s Degree, students can go on to a 1-year Master’s Degree program in Business Administration.

Students who have completed the VPC Hotel Management Diploma will be guaranteed entry into Term 5 at SHMS. After completing Term 5 and an internship, students will be awarded the Swiss Higher Diploma in Hospitality Management. With just one more term of study (Term 6), students can complete the British Bachelor’s Degree in International Hotel Management. Upon completing the Bachelor’s Degree, students have the option of continuing for another year of studies to complete the British Masters of Arts (with various major options).

VPC students can transfer up to 30 credits towards a Bachelor of Science in Business Management at the U of P. Courses are offered in the evening or through FlexNet (a combination of in-class and on-line learning) so students can work while completing their degree. The U of P bachelor degree is accepted for transfer into many Canadian university Master's degree programs.
